Nagarjuna Sagar The town of Nagarjuna Sagar is located at a distance of about 160 km from the capital, Hyderabad. The world’s largest masonry dam bearing the same name as the town - Nagarjuna Sagar Dam has been built across the Krishna River is located here. The dam has also created one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. Nagarjuna Sagar also offers picturesque surroundings and exquisite natural sceneries to the visitors. The building of the dam also brought into light the ruins of an ancient Buddhist civilization. Some of the relics unearthed during the excavation have been preserved in Nagarjuna Konda, an island located in the centre of the man-made lake. Ethipothala Water Falls Amind lush green surroundings and enchanting mountains of the eastern ghats, Ethipothala is a perfect retreat in the lap of nature. Located 11 km downstream from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, these waterfalls are mountain streams gushing down the hills from a height of about 22 metres. Camping and Trekking are popular activities around the Ethipothala waterfalls. Besides, wildlife enthusiasts can also visit the nearby crocodile breeding centre. Srisailam Srisailam is a holy town in Andhra Pradesh situated in the Nallamala hills on the bank's River Krishna. Srisailam has a number of places of religious importance. The Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Temple dedicated to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy (a form of Shiva) and Devi Bhramaramba (a form of Parvathi) in Srisailam is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Scenes from Mahabharata and Ramayana have been sculpted in stone on the temple walls. The other tourist attractions here include Akka Mahadevi caves, Srisailam Dam and Stisailam Sanctuary – one of India’s largest Tiger reserves.
