Amarapura Half Day Private City Tour

Your Amarapura half-day tour will begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Mandalay. You will embark on a private excursion to Amarapura, which is located 15 km (30 minutes) from Mandalay. Amarapura is a former royal capital of Myanmar and makes a scenic destination by the Irrawaddy river. On your Amarapura city tour, you will get the chance to see the U Bein Bridge, which happens to be the longest teak bridge in the world. The 1.2-kilometer bridge was built around 1850 and makes a spectacular sight at sunset. You will also visit Mahagandayon Monastery where hundreds of young Sangas study Buddhist Literatures, following Buddha principles. The Amarapura guided tour also features a trip to a traditional hand-weaving silk workshop, where you can learn about this ancient craft. You will also explore the famous Bagaya Monastery, which is known for a fabulous collection of Buddha statues. The pagoda is completely made of teak and features 267 massive posts of teak. The largest of these posts is 60 feet high and 9 feet in circumference. The tour ends with a return to Mandalay.
